Law Archive Open Scholarship Platform Launches at Yale Law School

“Yale Law Library in collaboration with the Center for Open Science has announced the launch of Law Archive, the only free open-access platform of its kind that integrates collaboration tools, data storage, and sharing of legal scholarship. Accessible to everyone, regardless of organizational affiliation or ability to pay, Law Archive contributes to the movement to break down barriers to legal information and scholarly research. The Open Science Framework (OSF), the host platform for Law Archive, supports the entire research life cycle. This means that researchers and scholars can upload research plans, preprints, fully published papers, and collected data to Law Archive. Collaboration features also make it possible for researchers from different institutions to work on research projects in a central OSF project space, with the ability to integrate tools such as Dropbox, Google Drive, and GitHub. Law Archive promotes transparent and reproducible research, a requirement from many funding agencies. Some might remember the retired LawArXiv and wonder how this new platform differs. The launch announcement for Law Archive provides details. While Law Archive serves as a free platform for sharing scholarship, a branded OSF Institution’s page is available for institutions who desire added subscriber benefits.
