Climate Registry Finalized General Reporting Protocol

“The Climate Registry is a nonprofit partnership developing an accurate, complete, consistent and transparent greenhouse gas emissions measurement protocol that is capable of supporting voluntary and mandatory greenhouse gas emission reporting policies for its Members and Reporters.” It “has finalized its General Reporting Protocol, which gives guidance on how to inventory greenhouse gas emissions for participation in the Registry. When organizations become Reporters, they agree to register their greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) for all operations in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, and are encouraged to report worldwide…As of March 2008, the Registry’s membership
includes: thirty-nine U.S. states and the District of Columbia, seven Canadian provinces and territories, six Mexican states, and three tribal nations. The breadth of this collaboration enables organizations to streamline their GHG emission reporting across many jurisdictions.”
