WSJ – “LinkedIn released its latest “diversity report” this week, following several other tech companies that have released 2015 numbers. The company made a big stride in its percentage of women in leadership roles, with 30% of its director-level and above positions filled by females, up from 25% last year. Women now make up 18% of its tech positions, up one percentage point from last year. Sandy Hoffman, LinkedIn’s director of global inclusion, wrote in a blog post that 43% of the company’s hires in the last 12 months were women. The five-percentage-point increase in women managers is a big increase for LinkedIn, the smallest company on this list, with 7,600 employees, up from 6,400 last year. Among other companies that have detailed 2015 numbers, Google reported that its share of women in leadership roles increased to 22%, from 21%, and in technology jobs, to 18%, from 17%.
