“This report, Financing the Response to AIDS in Low- and Middle- Income Countries: International Assistance from Donor Governments in 2011, tracks funding levels of the donor governments that collectively provide the bulk of international assistance for AIDS through bilateral programs and contributions to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The analysis finds that donor government support for HIV/AIDS relief returned to prior levels in 2011 after a drop in 2010, but has been roughly flat since the recession hit world economies in 2008. The data were collected and analyzed through a collaborative effort between UNAIDS and the Kaiser Family Foundation.”
