At the other end of the ranking was Gooding County, Idaho with an average AGI of $15,379. New York County (Manhattan) topped the list of counties ranked by average wages and salaries with $96,941, while Catron County, New Mexico was at the bottom with average wages of only $16,280. Adams County in Washington State had the greatest average number of exemptions claimed per federal income tax return (2.77) in 2013, followed by Shannon County, South Dakota (2.65). On average, residents of New York County (Manhattan) claimed the fewest exemptions per return (1.55), followed by Washington DC (1.58).
