“An individual deported by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in fiscal year 2013 was most likely to be a Mexican male about 30 years old, according to examination of the latest available agency records obtained from ICE by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) at Syracuse University under the Freedom of Information Act. However, the number of deportees from Mexico fell 15 percent from fiscal year 2012 to 2013, besting an overall 10 percent drop in ICE deportations. Mexicans now account for just under two-thirds (65.5 percent) of all individuals deported by ICE. Other nationalities which had above-average declines in deportations were the Dominican Republic (down 17 percent), Ecuador (down 14 percent) and Brazil (down 19 percent). Not all nationalities saw declines in deportation: there was a 9.5 percent increase in the number of individuals from Guatemala deported by ICE and a 59 percent increase in the relatively small number (815 in FY 2013) of deportees from China. For full details, including fiscal year 2012 and 2013 deportation counts by gender, by age and by nationality for all countries, see the report.”
