Open Government Information Awareness (GIA Project) website, sponsored by the MIT Media Lab, provides the source code for the applications that power the site: “To empower citizens by providing a single, comprehensive, easy-to-use repository of information on individuals, organizations, and corporations related to the government of the United States of America.”
The GIA project provides extensive, well organized and user friendly links to Legislative, Judicial and Executive branch data; information on industry and related state/federal government agencies, industry contributions to specific politicians, and industry sponsored PACS and trade associations by sector. In addition, the site provides the date the respective information was added to the database, and by whom. The searchable database has some 3,000 entries at present.
