Coal Data for the International Energy Annual 2006 (10/20/2008): “Excel spreadsheets with time series data for the years 1980-2006 on: (1) coal consumption and total primary coal production in both million short tons and British thermal units (Btu); (2) anthracite, bituminous, and lignite coal production in thousand short tons; (3) carbon dioxide emissions from the consumption of coal measured in million metric tons of carbon dioxide; and (4) gross heat content of coal production. Also included are Excel spreadsheets with detailed data for primary and secondary coal production in thousand short tons for the year 2005, coal supply and disposition (including imports and exports) in trillion Btu for 2005, and updated estimates of recoverable coal. Important Notes: (1) The Energy Information Administration reviews its databases each year and important revisions are made to the time series data of individual countries during this review. Therefore, data in the International Energy Annual 2006 may have been substantially revised relative to previous editions. (2) In this edition, the name of East Timor has been changed to Timor-Leste (East Timor). (3) Coal data for more recent periods for most countries are available in the Coal section of our International Page.)”
