“Cleveland Fed and OFR Conference on December 4-5 in DC Focused on Approaches to Monitoring Financial Stability and Development/Implementation of Macroprudential Policy. This second annual Cleveland Fed/OFR conference brought together policymakers, market participants, and academics to discuss:
- Macroprudential policy development and implementation
- Tools that measure vulnerabilities in the financial system
- Measurement challenges in the implementation of Dodd-Frank regulations
Keynote speakers included Loretta J. Mester, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. The conference highlighted research on derivatives markets, contagion, and systemic risk. In addition, representatives from the Federal Reserve Board and the European Central Bank provided a central bank perspective on monitoring and surveillance of financial stability. A second panel will provide an industry perspective, discussing private sector approaches to measuring and preserving financial stability.”
