“The U.S. Census Bureau released additional tables from the 2006-2010 American Community Survey Equal Employment Opportunity Tabulation. The Census Bureau has produced this tabulation about the labor force after every census since the 1970s. However, for the first time, this tabulation uses estimates from American Community Survey data, collected over a five-year period. Todays tables released on American FactFinder (the Census Bureaus online statistics search tool) include unemployment details for counties and industry characteristics of noncitizens. The final set of tables (place-level commuting flow tables) will be available on American FactFinder on Jan. 29, however, the entire 2006-2010 tabulation will be available via FTP download by Dec. 31. The 2008-2010 Disability Employment Tabulation (from three years of American Community Survey data) is planned for release this spring. The Census Bureau also released an infographic today, Americas Changing Labor Force, based on the 2006-2010 Equal Employment Opportunity Tabulation. This infographic charts the increase in womens participation in the labor force and in select occupations, with comparisons between 1970 and 2006-2010.
