House and Senate Websites Are Redesigned and Relaunched

There are many changes as a result of the power shift on the Hill, not the least of which appears tangibly in the websites of various committees. This is a result of committee name changes [see New House Committee on Science and Technology Launches Website] and shift of party control, so new web links are in effect, rendering historical documents (often included in blog postings) unavailable. The extent of these changes will be documented here, and on LLRX.com so stay tuned. In the interim, for those who are using website change monitoring tools and applications, as well as RSS feeds, be sure to check the links for accuracy and adjust accordingly.
Today’s news includes this change: the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform website now automatically routes to the House Oversight and Government Reform website. My initial testing indicated links from this committee in the prior Congress now link to the aforementioned new committee homepage].

  • “Chairman Waxman has announced the new subcommittee organization of the Oversight Committee for the 110th Congress: National Security and International Relations; Domestic Policy; Federal Workforce, Post Office, and the District of Columbia; Government Management, Organization, and Procurement; Information Policy, Census, and National Archives.”
