As energy, climate and weather datasets and resources are removed from government websites, there are open source initiatives that remain available and to which organizations may submit data. “The Open Energy Data Initiative (OEDI). Enabling research, collaboration, and transparency by providing open access to energy data and information. Provides free access to data generated from efforts funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and supporting projects and partnerships. OEDI contains data from all aspects of energy research, development, and operations, including data on:
- energy from waves, currents and tides
- geothermal energy
- solar energy
- wind energy
- device engineering
- performance and testing
- economic analysis
The OEDI Mission Our mission is to provide free, universal access to all relevant data generated from projects funded by DOE and supporting partners, to protect DOE’s investment in research and development through proper data management and the open transfer of knowledge, to fuel innovation, reduce duplication of effort, and promote scientific discovery in the energy sector.”
