“The 2012 Economic Census manufacturing releases concludes with seven summary series and seven subject series reports. The subject series reports are divided between materials summary, product summary, location of manufacturing plants and concentration ratios. The summary reports are part of the general summary. The general summary provides detailed statistics by subsectors and industries, including employment size and legal form of organization. It also provides data on inventories, primary and secondary product value of shipments, and primary product class specialization. The materials summary provides material consumed data by industry. The product summary provides product and product class statistics for the U.S. and selected states. Location of manufacturing plants provides employment size data for subsectors and industries by U.S., state, county and place. Concentration ratios provide data accounted for by the four, eight, 20 and 50 largest manufacturing companies.”
