Upcoming Release of Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun’s Papers

The Memory Hole published Highlights from the (362 page) Finding Aid for the papers (comprising over half a million items) of Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun, scheduled for release to the public March 4 by the Library of Congress.

  • From the Library of Congress press release dated May 13, 1997: “Plans for the transfer and processing of the Blackmun papers are currently under way. Among other conditions, access to the papers is restricted until five years after Justice Blackmun’s death.”
