Program to Ensure Public Access to Federally Funded Research

  • The Public Library of Science is a San Francisco-based non-profit organization of scientists committed to making the world’s scientific and medical literature a public resource. Since October 2000, more than 30,000 scientists, including 13 Nobel Laureates have supported the Public Library of Science and its mission.   • The campaign received a substantial boost today when Representative Martin O. Sabo (D-MN) announced that he is drafting legislation (the Public Access to Science Act) that would put publications describing research substantially funded by taxpayer dollars into the public domain.
  • To amend title 17, United States Code, to exclude from copyright protection works resulting from scientific research substantially funded by the Federal Government, H.R. 2613, introduced 6/26/03.
  • National Do Not Call Registry Activated Today
