- Troubled Asset Relief Program: Treasury Needs to Strengthen Its Decision-Making Process on the Term Asset-Backed Securities Loan Facility, GAO-10-25, February 05, 2010: “Treasury should (1) give increased attention to reviewing risks posed by CMBS, (2) strengthen its TALF decision-making process, and (3) determine which data are needed to track the management and sale of assets TALF borrowers might surrender. To enable more effective review of TARP, Congress also should grant GAO authority to audit Federal Reserve TALF operational and administrative activities. Treasury appreciated GAOs recommendations but said GAO understated TALFs success.”
