“The American Bar Association Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) and the National Urban League are collaborating with Thomson Reuters to promote financial literacy. The goal of the partnership is to promote economic empowerment by equipping individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to own their financial future. The project bolsters efforts to reach the public, specifically underserved communities and youth populations across the country. Some 78% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck with no end in sight due to continued inflation. In addition, many people lack the financial knowledge they need, with 25% of adults having no one to ask for trusted financial advice. The Financial Literacy Project includes a series of videos covering a range of topics, including budgeting, banking, tax preparation, buying a car, home ownership, saving for postsecondary education, debt management and financial planning.
